If you know Dutch Blitz
Dutch Blitz-style racing solitaire on iPhone
Dutch Blitz is a real-time card race: four colors, numbered cards, shared center piles that go up in the same color, and a personal “blitz” pile you are trying to empty. No turns. Speed wins.
Polar Pounce is built for that same instinct. Download it free if you want that game on iOS with friends (room codes) or bots.
Dutch Blitz is a trademark of its owner. Polar Pounce is an independent game inspired by the same family of racing solitaire games (along with Nertz, Pounce, and Ligretto). Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a substitute for official Dutch Blitz products.
What Dutch Blitz feels like
- Special decks: four colors or symbols, typically ranks 1–10.
- A 10-card Blitz pile: empty it and shout “Blitz!”
- Usually three post piles (more in two-player house rules).
- Dutch piles in the middle: 1 through 10, same color, anyone can play.
- Wood pile / hand for cycling cards when you stall.
Polar Pounce if you already play Dutch Blitz
You will recognize the table immediately: colored numbers, same-color building, everyone slamming cards into the center.
| Dutch Blitz | Polar Pounce | |
|---|---|---|
| Deck | 4 colors, 1–10 | 4 colors, 1–14 (56 cards) |
| Center piles | Same color, going up | Same color, 1→14 |
| Must-empty pile | 10-card Blitz | 13-card Pounce |
| Side piles | Usually 3 posts | 4 work piles |
Longer run (14 vs 10) and a slightly bigger personal pile. Same “no turns, play as fast as you can” brain. Ligretto sits in this family too (1–10 colored decks).

Search the App Store for Dutch Blitz by the publisher that owns the brand. Polar Pounce is for people who want a free racing color-card game with room codes, cosmetics, and solo bots, not a licensed Dutch Blitz client.
